Accessing vuSmartMaps – Logging in

  1. To access vuSmartMaps, open your Chrome browser and go to the vuSmartMaps URL, typically in the format https://a.b.c.d/vunet.
    • Here a.b.c.d represents the system’s IP address or domain name where vuSmartMaps is hosted.
  1. When you access the browser with the above URL, you’ll see a login screen as shown below:

  1. Here, you need to key in the Username or email, Password, and Captcha.
    • The Username, Password, and Captcha fields are mandatory to be entered. It must be noted that Username is case insensitive and the Password is case-sensitive.
    • The Captcha ensures the user is human, helping to prevent automated attacks and brute force attempts.
  1. Once logged in, you are taken to the landing page or what’s called a Home Page. To learn more, please refer to the Home Page

💡Note: The homepage may differ from user to user, based on their specific dashboard requirements. This configuration can be managed through user management. For further details on how to configure the landing page, please refer to the User Management Guide.

For example, let’s take a user who needs MongoDB Metrics as their homepage. In this scenario, their homepage would be mapped to the  MongoDB and the user will be navigated to the MongoDB storyboard as shown below.

 

Reset Password

  1. If you have forgotten your password, go to the login page and click on  Forgot password? option.
  2. Clicking Forgot password? will lead you to a page where you can enter your username or email to reset your password.
  1. Once you enter your username or email, you’ll see a confirmation message at the top, indicating that an email with instructions to reset your password has been sent.
  2. The email with the password reset link is provided.💡Note: The password reset link is only valid for five minutes.
  1. On clicking the link, you will be redirected to the following page. Enter your new password, re-enter it to confirm, and click Submit.

  1. After clicking Submit, the password will be reset, and you will be redirected to the login page.

Change Password

To change password, navigate to the Change password button from the top right corner as shown below:

On clicking the Change password button, pop up will appear for changing the password.

Enter the Current password, then enter the New password, Confirm it, and click the Change Password button to finalize the change. This measure will help ensure the authenticity of the request and enhance security.

💡Note: You can only change the password if the administrator has granted permission. The system administrator should have the ability to disable the password change functionality for end users. To learn how to manage permission, please refer to this section.

Signing Out

  1. To log out of the platform, please navigate to the Sign out button from the top right corner.
  2. Clicking on the Sign out button will successfully sign you out of the platform.

A modern Internet browser like Chrome Version 109 or higher is recommended for optimal performance.

Your login credentials are usually provided by your system administrator. These include your username and password. Make sure to have these details ready before logging in to vuSmartMaps.

To access vuSmartMaps, open Chrome, go to the vuSmartMaps URL (e.g., https://a.b.c.d/vunet), and log in using your provided Username and Password.

If your organization has configured LDAP/ADFS, use your system login user ID and password. Alternatively, if you’re using a local account, ensure your user profile is set up within vuSmartMaps by an administrator, and your credentials will be shared directly with you.

Click on “Forgot password?” on the login page, enter your username or email, and follow the instructions in the reset email to create a new password.

Click the “Change password” button in the top right corner, enter and confirm your new password, and click “Submit.” Only users with permission granted by the system administrator can change their passwords. Administrators can disable this functionality for end users.

The homepage consists of the Customer Service Panel, offering links to resources like the User Guide, and Recently Viewed Pages, displaying the last five pages visited.

The Left Navigation Menu provides access to various features such as Home, Dashboards, Observability, APM, Alert Console, Reports, RCA Incident, Data Ingestion, and more, allowing comprehensive platform management.

The License Expiry Indicator, visible 90 days before expiry, provides color-coded alerts to remind users to renew the license promptly.
