Telemetry
Ingest peta-bytes of data at scale in real-time
Data in the form of Metrics, Events, Logs and Traces, is at the core of an Observability solution. vuSmartMaps™ ingests data with great ease and accuracy speaking volumes about its efficacy in providing comprehensive observability to users. Data ingestion happens by agents, polling or direct-push from target systems. Infrastructure data is ingested via O11ySources.

- Agent based – VuNet’s OmniAgents, a unified agent for collecting data, resides in the target systems and streams data such as Logs, Events, Metrics to vuSmartMaps™. Data such as Traces are streamed via SDKs embedded in the target systems. The agents stream data to the platform using either a Kafka based method or OTLP protocol. This makes the platform compatible with any 3rd party agents. For scalability, multiple instances of the agent can be setup to ensure there is no data loss. Additionally, VuNet’s OmniAgents are built light-weight ensuring minimal compute consumption.
- Data Pollers – Data pollers is an agentless mechanism for data telemetry. vuSmartMaps™ has a pre-built data poller service that can connect via APIs or other interfaces with any target system and collect data in real-time. The data pollers can be deployed in multiple instances to scale up and down.
- Direct Push – The target systems are configured to send data to vuSmartMaps™. The platform has receivers which are micro-services deployed using Kubernetes.
Specifically for collecting telemetry from various infrastructure components such as Web servers, Database, Servers, Containers, Network Devices etc, vuSmartMaps™ provides O11ySources. O11ySources are packaged solution that goes beyond telemetry to provide observability of an infrastructure component. These have pre-configured templates for data collection through agents, pollers and receivers.
